Modern working worlds with maximum comfort: Fosbury & Songs, a provider of modern serviced offices, chose the Brussels district of Watermael-Boitsfort for the company’s second site. Two tower-like buildings designed by architect Constantin Brodzki are located in the vicinity of the 4,400 hectare Sonian Forest on the southeastern city outskirts. The special characteristic of these striking buildings are the bright facades and numerous oval windows that attract the attention of passers-by with their mirrored and tinted glass surfaces. The interior design of the Fosbury & Sons offices was intentionally oriented towards preserving the old building’s charm and, at the same time, complying with the requirements of modern forms of work. In collaboration with the architectural office Going East from Antwerp, numerous timeless pieces of Thonet seating furniture were selected for the design of conference rooms and open-plan work zones. They decisively contributed to the comfort factor of the professional workspaces.
Eight iconic armchairs S 34 are used in a conference room. Covered with black bend leather and with black stained armrests, the chairs form a suspenseful contrast with the white walls and curtains, and a bright natural stone conference table. Comfortable cantilever chairs model S 64 PV by Marcel Breuer were also used. The team of architects decided to use cognac coloured covers made of natural nappa leather. Due to the light brown leather cover, the chairs harmoniously fit in with the colour and interior concept of the light-flooded workspaces. Thanks to the exclusive comfort upholstery, the tubular steel classics enable comfortable sitting even on long workdays. Fosbury & Sons members can take a seat on Thonet chairs model S 64 V to work and enjoy the direct view of the areas greenery. The cantilever chairs with wicker cane seats are grouped around straight-lined wooden table constructions and offer especially high sitting comfort due to their armrests.
